Welcome to the 2024-25 Academic Year: Updates from the Office for Student Success

Front of LeChase Hall

Dear students,

Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year! Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning to continue your academic journey, I am thrilled to have you as part of our vibrant school community.

This year brings some exciting changes and opportunities, including the new location of our Office for Student Success. You can now find us upstairs in the third-floor front wing near the Student Center, where we have created a welcoming and supportive environment designed to help you thrive.

We also have a fantastic lineup of events planned to kick off the semester:

  1. Welcome Backs: Join us for our Welcome Back events to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. It's a great way to ease into the new academic year and build your Warner community. These will be held on the first floor of LeChase Hall (across from the elevator) during the first week of classes (Aug. 26 – 29) before the early and late class sessions.
  2. Coffee Hours: Held upstairs in the Student Center, these informal gatherings are an excellent opportunity to relax, chat, and learn about the resources available to you. They're also a great way to familiarize yourself with the new Office for Student Success location. Stay tuned for more details.
  3. Time Management Workshop: Available on Zoom, this workshop will equip you with essential skills to manage your time effectively and stay on top of your academic responsibilities. We understand the importance of balancing coursework, family and career activities, and personal time, and we're here to help you succeed. Stay tuned for workshop details.

I encourage you to take full advantage of these events and the resources the Office for Student Success offers. Our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way.

I am wishing you a successful and rewarding academic year!

Meliora,

Melissa Sturge-Apple, PhD
Interim Dean, Warner School of Education & Human Development
