Biography

Kimberly Fluet is an educational researcher, external evaluator, and professional learning provider with expertise in STEMM identity development, entry into communities of practice, and supporting STEMM faculty and K-12 science teachers to enact student-centered pedagogical practices that lead to deep, meaningful understanding for all students.

Fluet mentors in-service science teachers (e.g., NSF NOYCE) and provides professional learning for districts in and around western New York (e.g., NYSSLS/NGSS implementation, OpenSciEd adoption, Ambitious Science Teaching pedagogies).

Fluet conducts educational research and program evaluation for grant-funded projects (e.g., NSF IUSE, NSF S-STEM, NIH T32, NASA) with a focus on self-determination theory, growth mindset and mitigating imposter syndrome. She utilizes quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques, often in tandem, as determined by the research and evaluation questions.
