About the Program

The two-year fellowship programs at the Warner School are designed to collaboratively prepare and support skilled higher education professionals. Our goal is to effectively serve the diverse needs of students and higher education communities. We partner with various departments and units across the University of Rochester to provide a comprehensive fellowship experience that nurtures your growth and helps you thrive in the field of higher education. Higher Education Fellowship Programs are offered through:

Residential Fellow Program, a partnership with the University's Office for Residential Life and Housing Services, provides a 60% tuition scholarship plus an annual stipend of $5,000 to $7,500, plus $1,700 toward a meal plan and more. Learn about the Residential Fellow Program.

Emerging Leader Fellowship provides a scholarship of up to 50% of tuition plus a free advanced certificate, exclusive career preparation opportunities, and more.  Learn more about the Emerging Leader Fellowship.

Higher Education Fellowship Program, a partnership with various administrative areas across the University of Rochester, including the University's President Offices and Student Life, provides a 60% tuition scholarship plus an annual stipend and other amenities. The ideal candidates include individuals aspiring to become innovative higher education professionals — college seniors and recent graduates who have a passion for higher education.

Higher Education Fellowship Program Features

How do fellowship programs cultivate the next generation of change-makers and trailblazers in higher education? Learn more.

Fellows are compensated for their work: Fellows will receive up to 60% tuition scholarships, in addition to annual stipends and various other amenities (varies by program).

Partnerships prepare fellows to lead in higher education: Fellows work in regular collaboration with experienced mentors for at least an entire academic year, which strengthens their practices and connections to higher education communities.

Fellowships create pathways to and longevity in higher education careers: By reducing financial barriers to entry and supporting work experience throughout the program, Warner’s fellowship partnerships with University offices and departments across campus foster long-term connections. 

Fellowships offer supportive learning environments: The program is built around a collaborative, caring community of university faculty and staff, all dedicated to shaping fellows' personalized programs of study tailored to their academic and career interests.

Fellows earn graduate degrees: Successful residents complete a master’s degree program, in addition to gaining work experience in the field of higher education.
